Congrats
Two of our assistants, Shenequal and Debi, have earned their Certified Veterinary Assistant certificates. To earn the title of a CVA, you have to complete and pass a test on skills and knowledge in veterinary medicine. The test is administered by the Texas Veterinary Medical Association and along with testing you must maintain a determined number of continuing education hours each year. This is the first level in a series of three that the TVMA administers and over sees.
Shenequal Ross

Shenequal has been with us for 5 years and celebrated her anniversary on August 8th which is her birthday, too. Five years ago she was uncertain of a career path but knew that she loved animals. She hit the pavement, literally, and ended up coming to our practice shortly after we had opened our doors at our new location here at 4365 Lovers Lane.
She started here with no experience in this field, but has shown a drive and eagerness to learn and grow. To quote her, “She just loves working with animals.” We are so proud of her and proud to have been a part of her growth in the veterinary field, as well as in her personal life. Her third daughter was born and thus added to our family in April.
Debi Osteen

Debi began her professional journey in this field as a kennel assistant when she when was just 19 years old. I would guess to say her personal journey began much earlier as she has always had a love for animals. She owns a multitude of creatures including a bearded dragon, Spike and two ball pythons, Monti and Stuby. Also, included in her family, are several Chihuahuas, two pit bulls, Angel and Bubba and what home would not be complete without a kitty, Jack Daniels.
Through Debi’s desire and interest to always learn she has become an incredible asset to our hospital and a part of our surgery team. I can only see her continuing to grow within our hospital and within this profession.
Congratulations Ladies!! We are so proud of you.
