Posted : 9/4/2009 Comments : On October 31st of last year I pulled a lab/boxer/pit mix from the Hickory Creek Animal Shelter. He had been there for 3 months, mostly due to his special needs condition. Originally named Tyson, we changed his name to Boss Man. Boss is an epileptic dog whose seizures were uncontrolled. Park Cities Animal Hospital, their entire staff and all the doctors worked tirelessly to help us find out a way to control Boss's seizures and starting in March he was seizure free for 5 months, a great step forward for a dog who had grand mal seizures every other week. In May I started to work on Boss Man's adoption while at the same time receiving a position as a winter tour guide at a sled dog kennel in Michigan. Knowing that Boss would have to live outside if he came with me I re-doubled my efforts to find him a new home, unfortunately to no avail. Then, last Sunday, Boss Man got out of the yard. He was gone for about 2 days. When he came back he was listless and had no appetite. Everyone at Park Cities did their best to try and figure out what was wrong. We realized that Boss had an obstruction in his intestines. This was heartbreaking to me because I couldn't afford surgery for Boss meaning my only other option would be to humanely euthanize him. But, the angels at Park Cities were on their way for Bossy. Not only did Park Cities take Boss under his wing and ensure there was funding for Boss's surgery, they did it with the most loving, kindness I've ever seen. Thank you Park Cities from the bottom of my heart. You made sure that Boss Man will still have years of healthy living to come! Thank you! Posted By :

Everyone from the reception staff and the techs to the vets are very concerned and take the time necessary for my pets. I highly recommend them to anyone who truly cares for quality petcare. |
